I'm a truth seeker, holistic health guru, gypsy spirit, and intuitive
reiki energy healer! Not to mention wanderlust traveler,
an organized and reliable virgo, a fairly strong and bendy yogini
and an ever-EVOLVING meditator. i bring a lighthearted feeling
of love and acceptance to any situation and am often seen indulging
in (and sharing!) dark chocolate and popcorn!
For over 6 years now I have been passionate about health and happiness. I’ve spent the past 2 years of my life on an fully-focused and intentional spiritual journey to explore my inner and outer worlds, along with a deep yearning to find my own truth. I have spent many years traveling the world, sometimes solo and other times with a friend and these experiences have helped open and expose my deepest, most relevant personal truths.
After quitting my job as a flight attendant and selling most of my belongings to travel the world, I now live in beautiful, New Zealand, teaching yoga, meditation, and empowering people through radical self-love. I am helping people loose weight, reconnect with their body, mind and spirit, and find relief from chronic pain, stress, anxiety and depression.

I was once like you!
Working three jobs, and living on my own, I put myself through university full time, plus actively tried to maintain a shred of a social life. Working so much, and stressed to the max (truth is, back then I didn't even know I was stressed, this was just "the norm"),
I was headed for burnout, and fast! my life felt like a
whirlwind, spinning me out of control with no end in sight!
my body was rebelling and my mind would never quiet or relax!
and then 3 things changed my life...
the first was yoga!
I began my journey as a healer through yoga, attending my first yoga class over 10 years ago and discovering that it was the only thing in my life that helped me slow down and manage my own stress and anxiety. I continuously reflect back on how much I've changed since that first class.
After practicing regularly for 6 years, using yoga as a means to move my body and learn how to reduce stress, I decided to take the next step and attend my first of two yoga teacher trainings. Little did I know, from the moment I made this decision, my life would change forever!
In 2012, I completed my first yoga teacher training with Marianne Wells Yoga School in the beautiful jungles of Costa Rica, receiving my 200 hour Yoga Teacher certificate. Marianne Wells Yoga School teacher training possesses a strong influence in B.K.S. Iyengar’s teachings, using props to help make postures (asanas) more accessible to everyone, and using yoga as a means to ease pain and tension in the body and mind through feeling the body as it moves. In 2013, I followed my passion for healing and joined Marianne Wells Yoga School in Costa Rica once again to continue my studies in yoga therapy, earning an additional 300 hour Yoga Therapy certificate.
Yoga has been and continues to be powerfully life-altering for me, learning to connect with my body, slow down and discovering exactly who I am and what I'm made of! I draw from these blessings and lessons continually to improve all areas of my life, nurturing my desire to help others experience their own positive transformations.
but yoga was only one piece of the puzzle for me,
i knew there was more....
then i discovered the wisdom of holistic nutrition!
In 2012, I enrolled at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition for my 2 year full-time correspondence diploma program. At the time, my brother was suffering from and unsuccessfully treating his many autoimmune conditions with advice of his doctor. We are very close and so I was very distraught with his suffering, always trying to help him find relief. This became a source of chronic stress for me.
I had officially abandoned my faith that the medical system could help him after his doctor suspected that he must have lymphoma (they were literally guessing at this point because my brother didn't fit into any other medical category thus far).
After insisting he have surgery to remove his spleen, without even considering doing a biopsy first, his doctors discovered - post-op - that he actually didn't have lymphoma at all and so his spleen had been removed unnecessarily. This was the final straw for me and so I took it upon myself to start researching natural healing methods. Knowing that my brother wouldn't take the time to research and implement these concepts himself and my parents not being familiar nor open at the time to natural healing methods being an option, I took the responsibility upon myself. This decision would again be a huge turning point in my life.
In 2014, I graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition with a diploma in Holistic Natural Nutrition and have been passionate about holistic healing ever since!
What is "Holistic Nutrition"?
Holism is the philosophy behind Holistic Nutrition that believes in treating the whole person by assessing and addressing the body, mind, emotions and spirit. It promotes the belief that these elements of our being must be treated together in order to experience "healing". As opposed to treating specific symptoms or injuries, which are often the result of disharmony in the body, mind, emotions and spirit, A holistic nutrition approach helps re-balance this disharmony, which can often come about from a dysfunction in any one or all of these areas, in a more specific way.
and then i found reiki
Finally, in 2015 and 2016 I attended three separate Usui Reiki trainings, ultimately obtaining my Usui Reiki Master Practitioner Certificate. Reiki only enhanced and expedited my own personal growth and healing experience and I've become dedicated to helping teach others how to harness this ancient wisdom! Learning how to manage emotions, protect myself from other people's drama and to shift my perspective to a more positive and supportive focus has been the most obvious improvements for my health and well-being.
WHAT IS "USUI REIKI"?
USUI REIKI IS A JAPANESE TECHNIQUE THAT PROMOTES HEALING, STRESS REDUCTION AND RELAXATION. IT IS BASED ON THE THEORY OF "LIFE FORCE ENERGY", KNOWN AS KI (ALSO KNOW IN OTHER MODALITIES AS CHI (TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE), PRANA (AYURVEDA AND YOGA PRACTICES), ECT...). IF ONE'S LIFE FORCE ENERGY IS LOW OR BLOCKED, THEN WE ARE MORE LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE ILLNESS AND "DIS-EASE" IN THE BODY. WHEN IT IS HIGH, WE EXPERIENCE HEALTH AND VITALITY. A NATURAL, VIBRATIONAL, HANDS-ON HEALING PRACTICE, REIKI SUPPORTS THE BODY'S NATURAL HEALING ABILITY AND IS AN EFFECTIVE COMPLIMENTARY THERAPY THAT IS SIMPLE AND SAFE IN TREATING THE WHOLE PERSON, BODY, EMOTIONS, MIND AND SPIRIT.

So how did i take back control of my health and well-being and go from stressed out, heading for crazy to claiming my ultimate vitality!?
I'm going to be completely honest with you. I want you to see that i was once just like you and am now well on my way to my most vibrantly healthy and fulfilled self!
On the surface, I was a healthy and vibrant young woman, struggling "as we all do" while finding my way in life. I had no idea what to do when I "grew up" and it was a constant nagging thought in my head that I "should know by now" what the rest of my life was going to look like and that my life should fit into that societal well-painted box. I rebelled against this idea with all my being yet had no clue how I was going to make life "work" any other way. All of this stress, compounded by juggling multiple jobs, working over 60 hours a week and barely managing to pay the bills meant that my health and well-being took the back seat. I had a burning desire for freedom; freedom from anxiety, fear and depression; freedom from struggling; freedom to travel the world in search of adventure and experiences!
have you ever felt like you didn't deserve to be taken care of or to spend time or money guilt-free on your health and happiness?
Neither did I!
i didn't think i deserved to eat good, wholesome food (in fact, i don't think i truly knew what healthy food was) so i bought what was cheapest,
i thought it was selfish and a waste of money to take time to relax or invest in my mental, emotional and physical well-being, so i continued to believe that these little "luxuries" like yoga and massages were not for me.
TO BE COMPLETELY HONEST, MY FIRST YOGA TEACHER TRAINING, I ATTENDED ONLY BECAUSE the few YOGA classes i did splurge on HAD ALREADY Helped ME SO MUCH AND I DIDN'T WANT TO STOP BUT I didn't feel like i could afford YOGA CLASSES! IT WASN'T UNTIL AFTER COMPLETING THE TRAINING THAT I CONSIDERED I MAY ACTUALLY WANT TO TEACH.
from a spiritual perspective, i was confused about what i believed in and what my purpose was as i never truly felt like i fit in with the beliefs of the church i grew up in (this was totally devastating for me as the church members remain to this day as close to my family members as my blood relations are!). i was lost and felt so different from all of the people i loved so much!
because my well-being took a back seat,
i was always tired and on-edge,
i was always super reactive,
my body was stiff and achy and felt like a cage,
i had bad skin and a host of hormonal imbalances & mood swings
and I always had digestive upset after eating.
this became my "norm" and so i learned to accept and live with it because that's just the way the cookie crumbles... or so i thought.
i had low self-esteem (although i don't think anyone could tell as i over-compensated by being the goofy, overly-confident extrovert),
low self-worth (always pining for love and attention, mostly from boyfriends),
poor self-image (I constantly judged myself and compared myself to others)
and never thought i would amount to much more than i already felt I was (which wasn't very much).
these toxic thoughts towards myself resulted in poor digestion, and severe, yet highly functional anxiety and depression and sent me spiraling into self-destructive habits and behaviors on several separate occasions. Like a yo-yo, I would go from feeling anxious and stressed to feeling sad and depressed. it was exhausting!
when feeling low, i used alcohol, food (and not healthy food), sex, over-spending, moving house/cities/countries/boyfriends, toxic relationships and even traveling to try to get away and escape the pain.

Like me, you probably already tried conventional approaches. The doctors tell you "nothing is wrong with you, go home" but you know something's off. You've tried other types of therapeutic practitioners like psychotherapy, counseling, and even massage, or acupuncture. They've helped some, but there's still something missing. You're frustrated as the same old cycles keep repeating themselves and you're feeling lost and confused about where to turn next.

Not based on societal or medical "normal standards", you've already tried this and it hasn't worked. WHY hasn't worked? Because you are not a robot! We are not all the same! Our suffering and personal challenges may look the same on the surface but our inner and outer experiences make for a completely different source of suffering ! If your car's engine just stopped working, you wouldn't just guess and make assumptions as to why it stopped. You would investigate the source! Why fix the engine or the timing belt if all you needed was gas!?

In my experience, in order to truly and completely heal, loose weight, reduce stress, improve immunity, or feel more zeal for life, all aspect of our being (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual) must be considered and included in any treatment plan as they interact with each other. Most importantly, for any change to truly stick, it MUST BE SUSTAINABLE. That's why addressing only one aspect of our being doesn't actually work in the long run. If you can't sustain the changes, then what's the point? We are multi-dimensional beings and therefore we need to consider the whole.

AS YOUR REIKI MASTER PRACTITIONER,
I create a space of relaxation, serenity and healing with each session. Sessions can be held in person or distance healing session are offered.
as your yoga for healing practitioner
I create a customized lifestyle and yoga asana (posture) plan to suit your specific limitations, which includes moving the body safely and nourishing the body and mind appropriately. Guiding you through your practice, I will help you learn to cultivate mental and physical strength, flexibility and stamina through asana, meditation and breathing exercises.
